Relatively though, some skills are better than others. This game is very balanced in that most of the skills are useful in some build. A Geo staff mage is unlikely to cast Crippling Blow before Impalement (which is a tier above Crippling Blow). When playing a staff based mage, they will normally not run Crippling Blow because compared to most damage spells, it is not that good.
But its not as strong a Whirlwind and it doesn'r have the mobility of Blitz Attack. But buffing a whole 4 man party is pretty cheesy to do.Īs for crippling blow, it is not a bad ability and most 2H/1H builds will run it. Now if you prebuff both skills become stronger. The most effective strategy is to CC or kill the next enemy in the turn order, and most of the time casting Battle Stomp or triggering an executioner proc is better. Peace of Mind and Haste both share the same issue, they cost ap that could of been spent on something with more immediate effectiveness. Many solid points have been raised in the comments and I have adjusted some skills according. Some skills like Fossil Strike (D Tier) are run on very strong builds, yet as those builds progress they end up using Fossil Strike less and in favor of stronger skills.ĮDIT: The feedback on this list has been great. Many skills that have low placement on this tier list can still be perfectly viable skills to run on Tactician/Honor difficulty, they are just not as useful as the skills placed higher. It requires a lot of oil that has not yet been ignited and in needs enemies that have not yet been ignited. Oily Carapace (F Tier) is very situational. If a character is running Pressure Spike, it is going to cast pressure spike every time its available. Pressure Spike (A Tier) is a 1ap AoE damage spell that does more damage than most 2ap skills. How situational is this skill? The best skills are useful whenever they are off cooldown. On the other hand while a spell like Venom Coating (C Tier) can be built around, Venom Coating is not carrying those builds enough. Pressure Spike (A Tier) does amazing AoE damage for 1ap spell as long as the build has points in Aero and INT. How potentially strong is skill when built around? Many skills become much better when characters have the right attributes, abilities, and skills for synergy. While Tactical Retreat (S Tier) may not have as much as a per fight impact as a skill like Grasp of the Starved (A Tier), more builds will learn Tactical Retreat because it doesn't require an investment into both INT and Warfare. How useful is the skill on any build? Better skills are used on a higher variety of characters.
